JOIN THE BOARD – MILLION STEP FOUNDATION CIC
The Million Step Foundation CIC is currently recruiting volunteer Board Members to join our Board of Directors and help guide the future growth of the organisation.
The foundation was created to promote health, wellbeing, community activity and opportunity for young people through initiatives such as the Million Step Challenge and future community sports programmes.

We believe that strong organisations are built through collaboration, transparency and shared leadership. For this reason we are now expanding our Board of Directors and inviting experienced, passionate and community-minded individuals to become part of the foundation’s leadership team.
​
Board Members will help guide the strategic direction of the organisation, support governance and accountability, and contribute their expertise to help the foundation grow responsibly and sustainably.

BOARD ROLES CURRENTLY AVAILABLE
FINANCE DIRECTOR (Treasurer)
The Finance Director will support financial oversight of the foundation and ensure the organisation maintains responsible financial management.
Responsibilities include:
• Supporting financial planning and budgeting
• Advising on financial controls and transparency
• Assisting with funding strategy and grant opportunities
• Providing oversight of financial reporting
COMMUNITY & OUTREACH DIRECTOR
This role focuses on community engagement and ensuring the foundation remains closely connected with local communities.
Responsibilities include:
• Developing relationships with schools and community groups
• Supporting the planning of community activities and events
• Helping expand participation in foundation initiatives
• Promoting the foundation’s mission within the community
PARTNERSHIPS & SPONSORSHIP DIRECTOR
This role focuses on developing relationships with businesses and organisations that support the foundation.
Responsibilities include:
• Building relationships with corporate partners and sponsors
• Supporting sponsorship and partnership opportunities
• Helping identify long-term strategic partnerships
• Representing the foundation within business networks
MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR
This role supports the public voice and visibility of the foundation.
Responsibilities include:
• Supporting media engagement and storytelling
• Helping manage public communications and messaging
• Supporting social media strategy and digital engagement
• Helping expand awareness of the foundation’s work
SAFEGUARDING & YOUTH PROGRAMMES DIRECTOR
This role ensures the foundation maintains strong safeguarding and youth programme standards.
Responsibilities include:
• Supporting safeguarding policies and youth programme planning
• Advising on best practice for youth engagement
• Helping develop safe and inclusive community activities
• Ensuring the wellbeing of young participants is prioritised

VOLUNTEER ROLE
Board Member roles are voluntary positions. The time commitment is expected to involve occasional meetings and ongoing strategic support for the foundation.
Board Members will play an important role in shaping the long-term future of the Million Step Foundation CIC and helping the organisation grow its impact.
